Your real estate agent will schedule to have professional photographs done of the property, which can be seen, usually by people nationwide. If your driveway and sidewalk look dull, have them pressure washed. The curb appeal of the home is very important. If your windows haven’t been cleaned in a while, have them cleaned. Over time all sorts of things affect the way your windows look. When you cook, oils go into the air and are distributed throughout the house via the A/C system. These oils stick to the glass and attract dust, pollen, and contribute to the glass looking dingy. These services will brighten up the house and make it look like the house was well taken care of, which is important to potential buyers. These services are affordable and the return on your investment is usually greater than what you put in. We work with many real estate agents and take pride in the fact that we are referred to homeowners so that they get the most out of their selling price. If you’re thinking about listing your house, give us a call and we’ll be happy to provide a free estimate for window cleaning, pressure washing, roof cleaning, house washing and paver sealing services. We wish you well with the sale of your home and look forward to hearing from you soon. 813-410-0643 or 813-337-7694 info@xtreme-windows.com

Everyone has heard about “Spring” cleaning, but how about “Winter” cleaning. There’s no reason to wait postpone the health benefits of cleaning during the winter months. During this gloomy and cold season we are exposed to reduced amounts of Vitamin D, as we have less exposure to sunlight. If you use scented candles or have a fireplace that you use regularly during the winter months, a regular window cleaning service is essential for improving health benefits. Candles and fireplaces can allow soot to stick to your windows, which in turn allows less light in and you may end up feeling tired or down. A monthly or bi-monthly window cleaning service will remove the soot and build up from the windows allowing the sun to shine through, which will also improve your mood and health, Give us a call today to schedule your Winter window cleaning service. 813-410-0643 , or info@xtreme-windows.com

We get this question a lot. Not only from homeowners, but from businesses as well. The answer? Well, there are several answers and I’ve listed some of them below. 1) How often should I have my windows cleaned? - You should have your windows cleaned more than once a year. The questions you need to answer are below: ◊ How many people live in your home? ◊ Do you have a lot of trees on your property? ◊ Do you live near water? ◊ Does anyone in your family have allergies? The exterior of your windows go through a lot. The different seasons bring different situations, from pollen to rain and salt water to bugs. If you have sprinklers that hit your windows, eventually a calcium build-up will be on your windows and once it’s been there for a while, it has to be treated and scraped off, and there is no guarantee that it will come off based on how long it’s been there. If you live near salt water, the wind blows the salt onto the glass and once the sun bakes it, the salt can etch your glass. The interior of your windows also goes through a lot. Pets may lick or rub their noses on windows and doors. Children may put sticky fingers on the glass, and even cooking can affect your interior windows. When we clean windows on the exterior, we expect the solution being squeegee’s off to be dirty. We also see, on many occasions, the solution on interior windows to be black or gray. This is because the windows have not been cleaned in a while and after time, dirt, dust, as well as germs stick to the glass. You don’t always necessarily see this, your glass might appear dull, but you may assume it’s on the exterior of the window. Not so. On many occasions, we have cleaned exterior windows and the interior windows are dirtier than the exterior. Think about it! Ask yourself the questions I’ve presented to determine how often your windows need to be cleaned.

Do you live near or on the water in the Tampa Bay area, or any other area, for that matter? If you do, please keep in mind that the salt in the salt water gets on your windows. It gets blown onto the windows from the wind, as well as storms as they blow through. What the salt does, is it eventually etches the glass. This essentially ruins the glass, which in-turn, ruins the view you paid a lot of money for. A regular window cleaning service will help to postpone, or eliminate this etching process, depending on how often you have it done. Keeping the windows clean and clear of salt, not only clears the view, but it also preserves the life of the window and glass. It’s usually best to get on a window cleaning schedule for your windows. Schedules can be anything from weekly, to annually. Although, if you do live on the water, it’s best to get them cleaned at lease every quarter. If you have questions, or would like to discuss a window cleaning schedule with us, feel free to give us a call at 813-410-0643 , or send us an email to info@xtreme-windows.com .

When using sites, such as, Thumbtack.com, or Home Advisor, or Porch.com, please be mindful that the professionals sending you estimates have to pay for the estimate they send you. Each website is different, as far as pricing is concerned. Prices for the professionals to send an estimate vary from $10 to $30 per request and there is no guarantee that the professional will get the job. These leads are sent out to all professionals listed and the quickest ones get to send the estimate. A maximum of 5 professionals can send you estimates, which means, off the starting gate, the owner of the site can make from $50 - $150 from just one request. These are useful because they do bring leads to the professionals, but be warned that the absolute cheapest estimate may not bring the quality you’re looking for. You get what you pay for, in most cases. Do a little research and look at the reviews, company website, etc. before selecting a professional. Make sure the professional you hire is licensed and insured, as well as background checked (many sites require this, but it’s an option for the professional on some). There are a lot of professionals out there that are not licensed and insured, if they get hurt on your property, they can sue you and your homeowner’s insurance. We are licensed and insured and can prove it. We keep the paperwork with us at all times and can display it when requested.

If you look out the windows of your home and it looks like they are cloudy, it’s probably because they are. Windows, as well as walls inside your home collect dust, grease residue from cooking, as well as tobacco and pollen. When we clean interior windows, a lot of times, the water and solution that we squeegee off the window, is gray or black. This indicates not only that the windows haven’t been cleaned for a very long time, but also that there could be built up allergens, which can cause sickness. The best way to have a clear view through your windows, as well as a healthier home, is to get them cleaned regularly. We offer interior and exterior cleaning schedules, as well as seasonal discounts for returning customers.

If your pool pavers look dull and dingy, or if you can see a dark residue in the seams, give us a call. What this means is that the strong rays of the Florida sun have faded your sealer, which has allowed mold, mildew and/or algae to grow in the seams. A surface pressure washing service will fix this problem. Once the pressure washing is done, we can then determine whether additional sand is needed and then re-seal the pavers and seams. This will ensure your pool pavers to look clean and beautiful, like they were just installed. We have several different options for paver sanding and sealing. Give us a call today, or send us an email to info@xtreme-windows.com

If you can see gaps in between your pavers, more than likely the sand has washed out. The re-sanding process needs to be done on “high traffic” areas about once every 5 years. Once the sand is spread, a sealer will need to be applied to hold the joints. If you’re looking for a shine on your pavers, you should probably think again. There are many different types of sealer that can be used. The most common is a water-based sealer. This sealer penetrates the paver and seals the joints. This type of sealer will need to have two applications and the first application will need to dry before the second one can be applied. This will give your pavers a “satin” look, and a deeper color, but unless your pavers are dark, the shine will not appear, even when using a high gloss or wet look sealer. It's definitely best to hire a trained professional to do the cleaning, sanding and sealing process as this process takes several steps and applying the sand and sealer to damp or wet pavers will not work. The pavers need to be completely dry for the sealer to do its job and if the pavers are wet or damp, the sealed are will appear milky. This will not go away until the pavers are allowed to dry completely. If you’re looking to discuss this process with a professional, please feel free to give us a call at 813-410-0643 or info@xtreme-windows.com .
